The Art of Fat Transplanting
For many years Plastic Surgeons have tried to use fat as a graft substance. This all began in 1918 with severe WWI injuries. The fat did not take very well then, but much progress has been made since.
Plastic surgeons have learned that fat must be treated very gently and be centrifuged prior to use. When transplanted only 50% of fat survives on the average, but the remaining 50% is permanent.
The initial placement takes great skill and artistry on the part of the surgeon and almost always a second procedure is indicated for best results. The fat that survives will survive as long as the procedure is indicated for best results. It will survive as long as the patient does. There are many stem cells in fat and the stem cells are really responsible for productive results.
One can obtain pure stem cell mixes and transplants but the harvesting and processing is very expensive and not worth the cost when plain centrifuged fat works just as well. Should a patient request pure stem cells I can do this but the cost of production is high and really not worth the extra expense despite claims to the contrary.
In conclusion, FAT has arrived and is a great natural transplant entity. Come in for a consultation and we can discuss this at length.
